Origins of Life is taken from the debate theory of panspermia relating to comets: A theory that life on earth stated from microorganisms presented in outpace, and arrived in comets as the building blocks to initiate life.
This is a new series of work for Haigh Hall, commissioned by Wigan Council and funded by Heritage Lottery Fund and Arts Council England. The work is in collaboration with Plincke. Curated by Al & Al. Initial develop with Bren O Callaghan.

It was sometime before the scientists were able to discover what was in the centre of a comets and what they were made of, it was even more time before they landed an prob upon one to take samples.
There are many theories around comets and the beginnings of life. It has taken many different routes and paths. Leading to different theories and causing many different debates.  One of those theories is panspermia.  It is argued that comets contain the building blocks of life, ammio acids, water and carbon.
With this theory in mind the comet is presented within a living hedge surrounding the comet that lays in its nucleus.  The comet it self is in to halves, dissected in order to see what lies in the heart of a comet.  The richness of the elements can be seen within it. The reward of taking time to find the centre of the maze, is the view of the heart of a comet.
The shape of the maze from an overview is present like a comet. The comet in the centre, the living hedge as its coma, and the shards that make up the maze form the ion tail and dust tail.
